The 10 Commandments with Charlton Heston.

The dialogue is legendary and they turned it into one of the most beautiful movies ever.

Just remembered.  Casino by Scorsese which featured DeNiro playing a Jewish guy and probably the best was Once Upon A Time In America, the last film by Sergio Leone.  It featured DeNiro and Joe Pesci playing Jewish gangsters.  It's a long movie, but worth it.

I like the adaptation of Leon Uris's book, "Exodus".  You're right dannycookie, it would be so amazing if a movie was made based on "The Haj" but it would be extremely difficult to capture the magic of the book.  I think it would absolutely have to be filmed in Israel as well if it were made.

There are so many...but I mainly enjoyed "Exodus", "The Chosen", "The Boys from Brazil", and a little known film called "A Day in October", which portrays the heroic steps taken by the Danes to help save Danish Jews from Hitler's slaughter, while the rest of Europe handed them over without questions.

Personally, I think the rape scenes and running time are irrelevant, only because Jewish gangsters are often neglected in movies.

Rape scenes are anything but irrelevant to me. I had a girlfriend who was raped, so this is something that hits close to home for me. Plus, I don't think I'd like them anyway.
