This is an inadequate and flawed "definition", because it is only a description of one of Fascism's characteristics.
"Fascism, might best be defined as corporatism"...Benito Mussolini, founder of Fascism.
Fascism is a system where the government and corporations are joined together, presiding over a military-industrial complex.
Under Fascism, the individual exists only at the whims of the State, and only to serve the State, but there is no citizenship based on race, as is found in National Socialism.
Mussolini, who was very much an intellectual, often said that Hitler's model for government was just a dictatorship with no real structure or ideas other than delusional racist theories.
Extreme nationalism per se has no relationship to any one political structure.
