Big Bang Theory

(1/2) > >>

Christian Zionist:

Did the Universe begin with a super explosion of a small mass 10 billion years ago? The following problems are observed in our solar system that defy the big Bang explanation:

1. Uranus and Venus rotate in the opposite direction to the other planets.

2. Some planets have eccentric or tilted orbits.

3. Some planet's satellite moons move in retrograde (backwards) motion.

4. Our moon has a lower density than earth.

If it was thrown out from earth, it's density would be more.

5. The sun's angular momentum is 1/200th of the planets.

This small angular momentum makes it unlikely that the planets could be thrown out of the sun.

Zelhar:
These facts prove nothing relating to the big band. These are 'local' phenomena that need to be explained by the theory of the formation of planetary systems.

Our solar system was created billions of years after the formation of the universe, according to theory, it was formed out of a nebula which is itself the result of earlier, exploded, stars.

However, there is little hope for physics to uncover the ultimate theory of creation. Physics can only trace things back to what they believe is their origin, yet it can't explain the origin itself.

In fact one can't prove that anything physical exists, one must assume existence of physical being.

Zelhar:
I BELIEVE that the physical universe exists, and that it is formed by rearrangement of the void. I am  not a physicist but i think it is consistent to believe so with assuming the big bang theory. Not only consistent but it is in its essence. It is remarkable to find a similar logic in the biblical myth of creation (separation of light and darkness, water and land, out of initial state of chaos).

I think all the great Torah scholars maintain that Torah is not a science guide book and scientific theories do not have to pass through this sort of religious lens (however scientific experiments and methods do).

MarZutra:
Well... I think this theory of Evolution/Darwinism is totally [censored].  If one has a child and leaves it in a field, it cannot survive but must have parents to care for it....  Here is a book by Purloff "Tornado in a Junkyard"..  Enjoy..

Christian Zionist:
Good post Marzutra!

Sir Fred Hoyle, the famous astronomer, once wrote, "The chance that higher
life forms might have emerged in this way is comparable with the chance
that a tornedo sweeping through a junkyard might assemble a Boeing 747
from the materials therein."

- Philip E. Johnson, Darwin On Trial, (Downers Grove: Illionis Intervarsity Press 1993) p. 106

Also we as Bible believing Jews and Christians should bear in mind that liberals use evolution theory to attack the Bible and NOT the koran, Christianity & Judaism and NOT islam.   Millions of Jews and Christians started doubting the Bible after reading Darwin's materials.  But if we look at the effect on evolution theory on islam only a few muslims lost their faith in islam because of Darwinism.
