cjd: "...I really don't choose to give him that credit. If you do I respect that position but can't agree to it..."
cjd, Consider this scenario during a debate:
You face your opponent on a podium before a large, left-wing college audience.
Whether your opponent is a white leftist, or a black supremacist, the subject for debate is "Is Israel an 'apartheid' state" (or any other such anti-Jew craziness).
The audience for the most part, is composed of phony frauds believing themselves to be 'Civil Rights" advocates, ACLU supporters, and others recently agitating an ugly "Divest from Zionism" campaign.
Immediately, your opponent attempts to create a false comparison, announcing that "The United Nations itself, has passed a resolution stating that "Zionism is Racism"!
By simply agreeing with MassuhDGoodName's earlier post, you humiliate your opponent, leaving them stumbling for any other attacks. You calmly turn to those wanting you to fail, and say the following:
"The late Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King, his name now celebrated with a national holiday of rembrance, said the following: "...Those who declare that they are against Zionists and not Jews, are in fact against Jews...anti-Zionism IS anti-Semitism!"
Now, cjd, why should any lover of Judaism and Israel want to make attempts to "lessen" the power and intent of these words of the late Dr. King?
This quote alone is capable of humiliating countless maniacs who shout that "Zionism is Racism" and insist that "We aren't against Jews, we are against Zionism"!
The truth can be a beautiful thing when in the right hands!
