Due to the fact women have different needs to men in weapons, I put a short list of weapons I recommend women have.

1911PD all models

A Butterfly knife

A steel torch that can double as a club  ;) Comes in pink  ^-^

And all women need to carry a mobile or cell phone.
Out of curiosity, how do those particular weapons work better for women than other ones?

1911PD models are very light weight guns, and the grips are a little narrow much more comfortable for a women to use because she has smaller hands. Also easy to carry due to the weight, alot of other side arms are very heavy, more than likely to be left in a car or at home.

Butterfly knife because easy to carry on her person. they do come in nice handle designs

A woman is more than likely will carry something she likes the look of. They are cheap and can have a range of them to match outfits. Yes that is very important.

A steel torch that can double as a club well thats just it. Its not a weapon but can be used at night. Being hit by a Maglite across the head would pretty much stop alot of people.

I mean not all attackers are men, some are women, some are teens.

Maglite are strong light weight torches, that once again comes in a range of colours.

Weapons for women need to be what she feel comfortable carrying.

Doesn't have to be a gun.

I always carried knives, then a gun. I am back now with a knife.

But the number one weapon a woman can have with her is a good size dog.

Women have to be very careful with weapons.

A man can easily disarm a Woman fumbling with a weapon.

what's with all this propaganda with guns and stuff??? that's NOT nice!!!

How is it propaganda?

I simply see those guns and the first thing that comes in my mind is AGGRESSION! is that right?

No way....its PROTECTION, if someone breaks into your house with the intention of killing or raping you, do you REALLY thing the police will be able to help??  Like my brother says 911 is for victims, the police will get there in time to put up crime scene tape and take pictures of the body...and if I have any say it wont be MY body.  I would not hesitate to put a bullet into the head of a person who threatened my life or that of my family.

I have to agree with Kelly on this one. Here on Long Island we have been having a rash of home invasions. Once animals like this come into a home and can't find what they think should be there they often resort to abuse and violence. A gun in the home in the hands of someone who can and will use it correctly is a powerful deterrent. Let a few of the filthy animals doing this garbage get a few rounds of shotgun pellets in them and other animals  may think twice about doing this sort of thing. I see where your coming from on this Jasmina but when bad people have all the guns good people suffer the consequences.

The 6 battery Mag-Lite is 20 inches long. Its great to have in the car or if you need to go out of the house late to walk the dog or such. You can give an assailant a hell of a headache with a crack in the head with something like this. The best part of the deal is it legal to carry around.  Another great weapon for the car is the steel one piece radio mast from most cars. Just keep one in the car. Walking at night its almost invisible. Its light to carry when you go from the car to wherever and you can really put someone down quick with it by giving them a few surprise lashes in the face.

How on Earth can a Woman wield a 6-cell Mag-lite?  Or even a 4-cell for that matter?

The guard technique from Brazillian Jiu-jitsu makes Women virtually rape-proof.

Women should also learn how to choke an opponent out using their legs.

It's true its not a weapon that is useful for everyone. Its better than walking with nothing. If the person carrying it is lucky to get a crack or a poke in the ribs in it could make all the difference.

Yup and its not seen as a weapon so people know you are carrying it, and will more than likely pick an easier target.

Pepper Sprays are only as good as the person using the device and of course windage.

Not to mention useless if the attacker is wearing sun glasses.

I have talked in person with many women and most of them are anti gun before and up to an assault. Then they come running to an instructor in firearms and or Martial Arts asking to be trained.

I am not faulting women in this area just stating a fact about human nature. Women in general dislike weapons. That is why Woman have for decades been barred from combat units in the military for physical and emotional and mental health issues.

Weapons are a part of Human Nature.

We had rocks, sticks, sling shots, arrows and spears, and knives before there was firearms and people were still being attacked and used these weapons in the history of our planet.

Don't you think you need to encourge rather than discourge. Anything is better than nothing. I can tell you most women are shot by attackers with there own guns. what does that tell you?

Most rapes are done by males the female knows.

Most times the female will not attack the attack for emotional reasons. Giving a woman any form of weapon allows her to have some kind of control.

Rape and attacks on women are attacks of power over her. If she has something she feels comfortable using then she will use it. If she doesn't want too, she wont use it.

Think outside the square gentlemen, we are talking all countries in this world and in many women don't carry guns, give them something they can use and protect themselves.

That is why I recommend any form of Martial Arts Training.

You get physical and mental skills to overcome and overpower an attacker.
Remember having any kind of weapon as your sole protection is laughable.

My point exactly to much is being pushed, own a gun you are 100% safe. Its a myth that needs to be changed.

Australians can't carry gun's and the laws will not be overturned. What weapons do you suggest?
