It's not designed to be a weapon.
You'd probably hurt your own fingers.
Of course, similar alloys were used to forge swords.
Carbon steel is very good to make a sharp raizor, or a good potato knife, and it is quite strong as well.

I believe Carbon Steel is also used in cannons, that's what my USP's barrel is made of.
