Both Bobby (the dog) and Lisa (the cat) have passed on- several years ago.
I cried for weeks afterward. I still miss them.

Yes, they are always with you. Over the many years, and countless animals I have rescued and rehomed, many I also had to have put to sleep. They are forever in your memory, apart of your life, that can never be replaced. The short time you share is a gift.
G-d have given people the ability to remember fondly of our special moments, in a way nothing is really lost, only misplaced for a time.
