MarZutra, thanks for the tip about looking up individual investors. One problem for me is that I don't really know what companies to look up, especially since so many media companies swallowed up smaller companies. One specific name I can think of is Time Warner Corp, but not much more.

It can be done. It is a mess of spider webs of shell/holding companies to which these shares are purchased. These companies are either corporate entities owned by various Arab/Muslims or they end up being wholely owned by some Saudi Prince. I'd suggest googling some Arab's name and key words to lead the search to his financial holdings, corporations under his control.
For example, a year or two ago, an investigative report show aired an investigative segment on the Saudi Prince's journeys to Monacco and Niece to gamble. What they found was his enjoyment of little boys to which he'd pay to have them "party" on his boat with prostitutes and other women that were at the casinos, dance clubs and parties. The investigative team was following and filming the Prince's limo. When they found out they were being tailed and filmed the bodyguards of the Prince stopped the car and detained the journalists and took the tapes.
The episode continued with some woman journalist interviewing the Prince on his boat, which subsequently purchased from Donald Trump for a reputed $50 million. During this interview the journalist states that she has to watch what she says not to be fired from her employment, presumably the Prince has enough share holdership in that entity to influence internal and external policies. I do remember the Prince sitting at an extravagent desk and behind him was a glass wall with masses of logos of the companies he owns and hold shares in. All, if not the majority, of Western (American) media was shown: FOX, NBC, CNN, CBS etc. etc.
Perhaps you can find this video on Youtube? The Saudi was deffinately Prince Alwaleed Bin Talal but I cannot remember what station did the "investigative" reporting...
VladislavA:
Hey I have a question. How do you put a big picture at the end of your messages?
