Menashe Council Workers To Learn Arabic

(IsraelNN.com) The Menashe regional council has begun to offer free Arabic classes to workers in hopes of helping them to provide better service to thousands of local Arabs who do not speak Hebrew.  The project will be funded by The Abraham Fund, a non-profit group that describes its goal as “advancing coexistence and equality among Jews and Arabs in Israel.”

In addition to learning spoken Arabic, workers will take classes on Arabic culture. Council secretary Moshe Ozen explained that the culture classes would help workers to better understand Arabs’ “different behavioral codes.”

That helps Arabs, and not Jews, but the group can still be proud that they will help create the next oslo
