I've heard about there being a large number of socialist or further Leftist citizens in Israeli Govt who fight tooth and nail against Western, capitalist leaning first generation Israelis?  Are the 2-3 generational Sabra's into the Govt being their lifetime Nanny?

Who is it in Israel that wants the Nanny State to tuck them in at night and sing them a lullaby?  Is it a strong clash against those who want to work hard and build something?  Do Israeli conservatives find is very hard to find a job in general or get in Govt?

I don't mean to be too nosy but I am interested on the dynamics of Eastern European and Western mindsets in one small nation, plus a zillion other things but never mind that now.
