Not blinking in the face of aggression

The United States is a nation that has a history of standing up to aggression when others won't.  During WW2 the attack on Pearl Harbor by the Japanese was to intimidate the American people into submissiveness.  It had the opposite effect; it made Americans more resilient and more determined to fight.  Americans can't forget who and what they are - a people afraid of no one.  I do believe that Israelis are the Jewish counterparts to Americans and they can not forget who they are either.
