Livni Phones McCain, Clinton
(IsraelNN.com) Foreign Minister Tzipi Livni telephoned presidential candidates Senators John McCain (Republican) and Hillary Clinton (Democrat) before ending her visit to the United States. She spoke with Democratic presidential candidate Senator Barack Obama earlier this week. The candidates and the Foreign Minister were unable to arrange their schedules for personal meetings.
She "updated the candidates on the Middle East situation and expressed gratitude for their actions and expressions of support for Israel," the Israeli embassy commented.
