Jan. 4, 2007— ABC News has learned that President Bush will nominate Zalmay Khalilzad to be the new U.S. ambassador to the United Nations. Khalilzad is currently the U.S. ambassador to Iraq. The announcement may come as soon as tomorrow. Khalilzad's departure from Baghdad will happen as soon as he is confirmed as U.N. ambassador.

Ryan Crocker, currently the U.S. ambassador to Pakistan, will be nominated to replace Khalilzad in Baghdad. Khalilzad has been U.S. ambassador to Iraq since June 2005. He is the highest ranking Muslim in the U.S. government and one of the few officials at the U.S. Embassy in Baghdad fluent in Arabic.

A consummate dealmaker, Khalilzad played an active role trying to push the Iraqi government toward political reconciliation. Khalilzad's efforts aliented some in the Shia-dominated Iraqi government who complained that Khalilzad was biased in favor of Iraq's Sunnis. Khalilzad is a Sunni Muslim. Before becoming U.S. ambassador to Iraq, Khalilzad served as U.S. ambassador to Afghanistan. Prior to that, he served as a Special Presidential Envoy and Ambassador at Large for the Free Iraqis.

Khalilzad has a bachelor's and a master's degree from the American University of Beirut, Lebanon, and a Ph.D. from the University of Chicago.

If he is a Moslem, the question answers itself.  Islamic doctrine states that a Muslim can never hold allegiance to a non-Muslim over a Muslim (directly taken from Judaism were no Jew can be under a non-Jew in Aretz Israel...only Islam applies to the entire world)....from my readings anyway.

Personally I feel it appalling and blatant corruption at the highest level.  Multi-culturalism does not work and has never worked.  Hamites, Nubains, Arabians, Greeks etc in Egypt to the decline of Greece, Rome, Israel, Mongol, Europe ...now America.  THEY MUST GO!! and the US must leave the UN...

In all fairness to President Bush he did try to get a good representative in last year in the form of John Bolton. He was actually very good for the short time he was in place. If he were allowed to continue he would have made a good representative for the United States at the UN. A good decent man who was smart enough to resign and avoid the partisan wrangling that would have commenced if he had tried to get reappointed. I don't know who advises Bush but honestly appointing a Muslim to replace Bolton is a bad idea. The U.N representative from the United States should be a main stream American just like Bolton was. He is the template they should go by. A Muslim has no business representing America in todays world situation.

I believe Ghorge Bush is a blunder.  I don't think he really can do anything whatsoever.  I believe David Rockefeller holds more power than Ghorge Bush to be quite truthful.  If you look at the Bush Administration and perhaps the 5 administrations previous, the highest advisors and positions of power are all awarded to members of the CFR, Trilateral commission and big business/banking interests.  I'd be all for a series of John Wilks Booths or a Lee Harvy Oswalds, at least a series of impeachments until one righteous and unconnected representative comes to the forefront.  Think about it, your once great nation, is about to have its first Communist/Feminist President, Black President or Muslim President....  If that is not a sham what is considering ALL of the Socialist planks, when voted on are ALL rejected by the greatest of majorities. 

It is appalling due to the fact that all of these "politicians" are all also members of the same "think tanks", social groups, elite clubs and social/ business buddies.
