Homosexuality and Catholicism
« on: January 18, 2007, 03:48:13 AM »
Everyone,

Why is it that the Catholic Church officially teaches that homosexual acts are sinful but that a homosexual orientation by itself is not? Is it because they know that many priests are?

I can assure you that as we speak a whole lot of priests aren't just homosexually wired, but are acting on it--perhaps not with children (albeit many are), but with other priests/monks.

I can't help but think that the gay agenda derives at least a little bit of encouragement from this double standard.

We have more pressing issues than the misfortunes that have befallen the Catholic Church they are paying for their sins in big dollars and loss in membership.

Yeah, and they still have plenty of influence in world venues, and even here considering the number of Hispanics pouring over.

I read somewhere (and don't take these as facts because these are only approximate) that before about the 10th century, priests could have wives.

In fact (what I heard) was that the priests had all sorts of wives and sons.

However, due to the fact the inheritence of their kids was mixed up in the revenues of the church, 1 pope wanted to ban priests kids getting any of the church property as inheritence.

So after that he said priests couldn't be married.

Fast forward 1 thousand years later and we have these nasty disgusting pervert priests.

The thing about the Christian religion that bothers me the most is all the warped sexual views.

A lot of it seems totally unnatural.

From what I gather, it was due to misinterpretations of words like 'pornea' in old scriptures and the word 'fornication'.

When I read about this, it made a lot of sense.

You can check out this site: http://www.libchrist.com/bible/catholiccelibacy.html

Anyways...I think some of the stuff on the site mentioned is pretty gross like swinger clubs and stuff, but their discussion on the Bible and sex seems to explain a lot (at least in my mind)

Like getting subconscious sado-masochistic pleasure out of seeing a defenceless young man hung up on a cross and bleeding to death?  Like feeling that it all happened just to save oneself?  Feeling self-important and loved by Hashem because he treated one particular man this way just for your own salvation?

No, Christianity is a very normal and psychologically sound religion.  Whoever told you otherwise?   ;D

I happen to be pretty familiar with "Liberated Christians" because another forum I belonged to years ago had a couple people who advocated their organization. They are quite disgusting and sickening, as you've already figured out. They advocate homosexuality, orgies, wife-swapping, and probably bestiality. I would run far, far, far away from any of their commentary, no matter how intellectual it may seem at first.

Back to the original subject, Catholicism is not representative of all of Christianity in this or just about any other area. Orthodox and most Protestants permit their priests/ministers/pastors to marry.

Here in the UK the government is pushing legislation (to be enacted within months) that will force all publicly-assisted adoption agencies to allow sodomite 'couples' to adopt children.

The Catholic church, so far, is the most vocal opponent of this - they have demanded exemption from the law.

In all fairness they are the only ones so far who have kicked up a stink about this.  By rights every moral person in the UK should be protesting in the streets about this but people now accept this kind of legislation from the government which is run by queers and Freemasons.

What a bunch of hypocrites. The RCC speaks against gay adoptions in England but says it's okay for sodomites to be priests, monks, friars, etc. Heck, I wouldn't rule out that the pope is a fruit. What do you expect when the religion teaches that leaders cannot marry a woman?
