Lesnar won

I gotta say i'm quite impressed for a former professional wrestler, youtube takes down the videos fast so hopefully this link will last since the match just aired yesterday.

I liked some of the older UFC stuff before all the rules were brought in, seemed a lot more intensive. I don't think weight class existed back then either.

Not in specific, to be honest with you, i'm not good at names.

Tito Ortiz was one fighter in particular I have enjoyed watching.

If I recall though, he didn't resign and his last match was in May.

Americanhero, I actually download all my wrestling and MMA shows from a site called Pro Wrestling Torrents, it's a invite network but they have high definition formats of the show. Pays off since I don't have cable or tv service right now and just watch it on my computer or the plasma display through a HDMI hookup.

Rarely, I stopped watching for the most part after the Chris Benoit murder-suicide thing. I used to watch WWE/WWF, ECW (before it went out of business), FMW (Japan), Big Japan Wrestling (death match Japan), NOAH (Japan), NJPW (New Japan Pro Wrestling), ROH (Ring Of Honor), CZW (Combat Zone Wrestling) and TNA (Total Nonstop Action), I find it difficult to watch any of it now. I will watch older tapes time to time.

I hope Lesnar does well in UFC.  I was never a fan of his in the WWE, but he was talented and I don't blame for leaving that organization.  Only time well tell.

boring match, annoying finish - no finish move, just time up! lesnar easily wins the decision 'cos so one sided.

Alot of UFC style fights don't have timers.. And don't have lots of rolling on the ground.

Matt Hughes or Fedor are far more exciting.. lots of people are.

Lesnar is interesting, but not under those rules.. With those rules he was just playing safe. Not going for a finish.

What suprises me is how these guys aren't breaking each others ribs, nose, . Or are they?
i'm suprised that lesnar's opponent might have only got bruising.

A lot of UFC seems very slow and same rolling on the mat and holds, I liked what I saw in PRIDE, is there anything similar? I'm downloading Dream.1 2008, since it's by the same guys who ran PRIDE, wonder if it's alright?

McCain had it banned in New York

That's not good, why? It's no different than boxing with allowing other things.

Oh I found this

[edit] Controversy and reform
The big UFC became a hit on pay-per-view and home video almost immediately due to its originality, realism, and wide press coverage, although not all of it favorable. The nature of the burgeoning sport quickly drew the attention of the authorities and UFC events were banned in a number of American states. Senator John McCain (R-AZ), was sent a tape of the first UFC events and immediately found it abhorrent. McCain himself led a campaign to ban Ultimate Fighting, calling it "human cockfighting", and sending letters to the governors of all fifty U.S. states asking them to ban the event.[3] As a result, the UFC was dropped from the major cable pay-per-view distributor Viewer's Choice, and individual cable carriers such as TCI Cable. Thirty-six states enacted laws that banned "no-holds-barred" fighting, including New York, which enacted the ban on the eve of UFC 12, forcing an overnight relocation of the event to Dothan, Alabama.[13] The UFC continued to air on DirecTV PPV, though its audience was minuscule compared to the larger cable pay-per-view platforms of the era.

In response to the criticism, the UFC increased its cooperation with state athletic commissions and redesigned its rules to remove the less palatable elements of fights while retaining the core elements of striking and grappling. Weight classes were introduced at UFC 12; gloves became mandatory and kicks to a downed opponent, hair pulling, fish hooking, headbutting, and groin strikes were banned at UFC 14. UFC 15 saw more limitations on permissible striking areas: strikes to the back of the neck and head, and small joint manipulations were banned. With five-minute rounds introduced at UFC 21, the UFC gradually re-branded itself as a sport rather than a spectacle.

As the UFC continued to work with state athletic commissions, events were held in smaller U.S. markets, including Iowa, Mississippi, Louisiana, Wyoming and Alabama. SEG could not secure home video releases for UFC 23 through UFC 29 in a period known by some fans as the "dark days" of the UFC. With other mixed martial arts promotions working towards U.S. sanctioning, the International Fighting Championships secured the first U.S. sanctioned mixed martial arts event, which occurred in New Jersey on September 30, 2000. Just two months later, the UFC held its first sanctioned event, UFC 28, under the New Jersey State Athletic Control Board's "Unified Rules".[14] McCain's opinions have now been revised and he is quoted as saying: "The sport has grown up. The rules have been adopted to give its athletes better protections and to ensure fairer competition."[15]
