Rubystars i have read that you keep keen interest in scientific ideas like evolution, creation threories..etc Considering you have strong belief in your faith... How do you deal with the contradictions??
Creation theories are not scientific ideas. They're religious ideas.
Even though Chaim doesn't agree with evolution, I will refer to the fact that he and many other Jewish people consider the Genesis story to be full of symbolism. I believe that G-d created everything, the universe, the earth, mankind, all the animals and plants, etc. however I believe G-d developed and worked through natural processes to create. This is not something that science can say yes or no to. Science doesn't work that way.
When people do science, they need to do it as if all causes are natural. This is called methodoligical naturalism. It is the method that is used by believers and nonbelievers alike to produce results that work.
Take influenza for example. What if a scientist saw somebody sick with the flu and wondered what the cause was of the illness. He must first rule out supernatural explanations. Those are not allowed in science, because they don't allow themselves to be tested, or falsified.
"G-d did it" or "demons did it" is not an answer in science. He might hypothesize that the person ate something poisonous to make them sick. This would be a testable hypothesis because you can see if anything they might have eaten was capable of producing flu-like symptoms. Let's say that none of the recently consumed substances were capable of producing that illness. Then the hypothesis would have been thrown out, or falsified. This is very important, because all scientific hypothesis have to be falsifiable, that is, there has to be some kind of evidence which if discovered would be able to prove them wrong.
Now let's apply this to evolution. If a giraffe suddenly gave birth to a cat by natural means, then evolution would be proven wrong. If genuine human fossils were discovered in Precambrian rock, then evolution would be wrong. Therefore, it's falsifiable. On the other hand, there is a huge weight of evidence from several different disciplines which support evolution through the weight of the evidence.
Ok now back to our unfortunate flu victim. The scientist trying to find out why he got sick has already discarded one hypothesis, and so moves on to another. This scientist knows that there have been things called viruses discovered. His new hypothesis is that viruses cause the flu. After testing this hypothesis, he realizes the weight of the evidence supports it.
If he had allowed supernatural explanations, he might have never discovered this, and simply said "Oh, it's the will of G-d that this man became sick" or "Demons must be attacking him". Because he ruled out those types of explanations from the beginning, he was able to find the real cause.
