Hi TorahZionist,

Yes I just listened to this song while I drove to lunch. I think both of the songs are great examples of using that style for expressing love of Hashem and the land of Israel.

PS: I have loved Matisyahu for many years and I actually met him at a Chabad function here in California.

Matisyahu is in Israel now (living there), also I heards he's not associated with Chabad any longer. Im happy for him, but he's not been heard of recently.

I have heard rumors that he is dabbling in Breslov chassidus. The last time I heard from him he was apparently composing a song consisting of some of Rabbi Nachmans stories.

Recent articles in the US Jewish press talk of Matisyahu distancing himself from Chabad-Lubavitch Hassidut. The artist doesn’t see it that way, but rather is thankful for everything he learned from the sect and is broadening his horizons to include other teachers and teachings within the Hassidic world. “Now I am interested a lot in Rebbe Nachman [of Breslov], in his teachings and writings and stories,” Matisyahu told Bresky. I have tried to transcribe the lyrics to this song. Of course I have made a lot of mistakes because it is difficult to hear the lyrics in some places.

Did you hear of this rapper (generally I dont like his music, he curses, and he compares Jews to blacks, but this song is pretty good- agains't Obama -

He even has Jewsagains't Obama written in the video.
