The same thing for the word "shvartza", which is Yiddish and means simply "black." It is neither negative nor positive, and means the same thing and has the same commotation as when we refer to blacks as "blacks" in English. We refer to whites as "whites" as well.

In fact, the Jewish name "Schwartz" is the same word as "shvartza" - it is the Yiddish equivalent of the common English name "Black". (The name "Weiss" is the equivelant of the English name "White")
