Where did America go wrong?

Putting aside all of the evidence that Obama is a muslim, that he consorts with terrorists, that he belongs to an anti-White and anti-Semitic religious movement, that his foreign policy ideas are naive and dangerous, that the worst people on the planet openly endorse him...putting all of this aside for the moment (and just for the moment) Obama's fiscal policies will turn a bad situation into a nightmare.

I think people at one time considered before they voted.  Now, so many people are planning to vote for Obama, it makes me wonder if people have lost the ability to think things through.  Besides the great many reasons not to vote for Obama, one of the most basic reasons not to vote for him is that it is just plain irresponsible.  Why would people be this way for something as crucial as an election?

People use seat belts and child safety seats. They install and check smoke detectors.  They look both ways before crossing the street and tell their children not to talk with strangers.  So why would they shut off that part of their brain that tells them to be prudent when it comes to choosing who is going to lead the country?

Is it television that has done this to us?  Or pop-culture?  Was it the 1960s when the young people of America abandoned their responsibilities and did whatever they wanted?  When did this happen to us?

Shamgar:
When they took prayer out of the schools.

I think that only tax payers should be able to vote. Physically disabled and old people of course must be able to vote. There must be an IQ test. There must be a proficiency in English. People should be able to vote from the age of 21. I would like to see people who served in the army a double weight vote. This would guarantee a conservative landslide with a Hunter/Huckabee ticket!  ;D

I agree.  If people bothered to put some thought into their voting, Hunter and Huckabee would win, and wouldn't that be great?

MarZutra:
Slavery was a good one and not letting Lincoln send them back...  Oh, yes and taking morality out of the school system.  Feminst movement.  "Civil Rights"  Federal Reserve Banking.  Progressive Education.
