 The truth is that it is false propaganda (wayy overly stated, etc.) BUT if you want  to say that it sounds like something that would be in an islamic country, I have news for you- Our society is supposed to be even stricter, and people should stop imagining Judaism to be liberal non-sense.

Except we don't go from point 0 to point 360 over night!  Such changes would take generations. Otherwise there would be a lot of revolution and a lot of unnecessary death and a lot of people leaving Judaism..I can promise you that...Strict isn't necessarily the right way. Not yet..not today. Maybe tomorrow..but who knows...IT was the way of yesterday...

The article is definitely anti-religious. However, I doubt it is a complete lie.

Certainly, isolated occurences of some religious Jews in Israel going 'too far' or 'overboard' in defending the modesty of their communities, can't be realistically compared with the state sanctioned modesty patrols found in Islamic sewers like Saudi Arabia and Iran.

However, the story does raise an interesting question:

If Israel is to be a Jewish State, ruled by Jewish law and Judaism, how far should the state go in imposing strict religious rule over the secular component of it's citizenry ? 

This is a very difficult issue and worthy of further thought and discussion.
