Giving out campaign literature

My daughter and I went to almost every house in our zip code today! We gave out McCain literature, and we found a lot of homes still had Obama literature lying there on the step, so we saved the people the trouble of cleaning up THAT mess (we picked it all up and threw it out.)

I signed up for the Obama campaign as a mole...that way I get their emails and access to find out when they are canvassing certain zip code areas.

I found out my zip code was being canvassed yesterday...so, I planned to go to those same homes today and give out OUR stuff (people tend to remember the last campaign literature they read.) And it also gave us the chance to get the Obama garbage and dispose of it.

I had the whole thing planned out, actually.

I had signed up through email for the Obama campaign..that way I'd have the ability to enter any zip code and find out when they are canvassing. I entered the zip I wanted to canvass for McCain, and found out they were doing my area on Shabbos I was ready for them that way too, when they came to MY house!)

And then, I let them do their thing, then I went to those SAME houses the next day (Sunday), knowing that they probably put their campaign lit in people's mailboxes (which is ILLEGAL, btw, so I will be reporting their campaign to the USPS too)..and nobody checks their mailboxes on Sunday because there is no mail delivery...so it was there for disposing of (and since it was not mail but had actually been put there illegally by them, no harm done.)

This way, many people never even got to see the Obama literature (iow, they wasted their time on Shabbos), and they do get to see OURS! Studies show that the last thing ppl see is what they remember (which is why political lit is given out at polling places.)
