Instead of Google: search with charity
« on: November 27, 2008, 02:34:04 PM »
Google is highly suspect. They tweak bama searches and they have banned Pamela Geller of Atlas Shrugs. I am looking for an alternative search engine.

Apparently they have this engine: GoodSearch that would give part of the proceeds from your searches to a charity of your choice.

http://www.goodsearch.com/Default.aspx

You can add a charity, and they will verify if it's legit. I want to enter there the "Voice of Jewish Activism," because it's a charity organization. But it's asking all sorts of questions I don't know. Could Chaim or someone who has the information fill out this charity form? If we add VJA successfully, then, I think, we should all start using it instead of Google.

That's not a bad idea, I am not sure how to add it to my ffox search bar yet.

Or use scroogle

But this is just a regular search engine, isn't it? The thing about GoodSearch is that it gives money to a charity of your choice every time you search. So I just thought that if we add VJA and it clears as a legitimate charity, then all of us can start using GoodSearch whenever we search, and that way we could earn some money for our organization.
