What does it take for an American Jew to get Israeli citizenship

If some of us wanted to become dual nationals of Israel partly for the purpose of voting for the believing and committed Jews in Israel and defeat the self hating left wing Jews can it be feasibly done?  Does becoming an Israeli require full time living in Israel?
