Anyone wants to help with this?
« on: January 07, 2009, 04:55:10 AM »
I know this is out of the JTF topics, but if anyone wants to help...
Greewnich Mean Time is in danger. Some countries are aiming to fix UTC only by atomic clocks abolishing leap seconds. Leap seconds are added occasionally to keep civil time in line with Earth rotation which is sometimes irregular due to climate and tides. If they were abolished UTC and mean time would gradually drift and leagl time would be no longer determined by astronomy. Greenwich (and all meridians) would no longer have an steady time.
