Newsmedia calls tea parties "anti-tax", this is wrong

Did anyone else notice news media calling tea parties anti-tax? I think this is purposeful to try and discredit the movement. It implies the people who are upset at high taxes think they shouldn't pay taxes at all. I think very few attending the tea parties feel that way. I think anyone with even a bit of intelligence realizes that taxes are necessary. Characterizing them as anti-tax takes the whole legitimate argument of excessive taxation and redistribution of wealth and replaces it with a unrealistic argument of no taxation. The news media purposely missed the point and made it appear to be something it wasn't. Even Fox News called the rallies anti-tax.

You are right the liberal media intentionally misrepresented the tea parties.
They failed to mention that there were people from across political party lines, different races, and different levels of income present and taking place at the tea parties.

They purposely distorted what the reason was behind the rallying of the tea parties in order to make it look as if the attendees were anarchists, not patriots, against taxes, and heaven forbid Republicans.

And, you are correct about most of the media, but there were some broadcast reports on Fox News that depicted exactly and realistically what was taking place.
Sean Hannity, Neil Cavuto, and Bill O'Reilly made it a point to report exactly what the tea parties were about and what was taking place.

ag337... I am glad someone reported it correctly, unfortunately I think the vast majority of people watching the programs you mentioned already knew it was not an anti-tax rally. I just wish CNN, MSNBC, network news, etc. that is liberal dominated would have reported it fairly and correctly.

Dan ben Noah... I did not hear that one but it doesn't surprise me in the least. What bias we have in our free press. It is a shame that in this country we have a free press yet the majority of the press is simply a democrat mouthpiece and a propaganda machine.
