Career Criminal Held In Murder of 17-Year-Old Girl in Los Angeles

Here we see the so-called "conservative" Fox news network shielding a [censored] savage from the eyes of television viewers. This recently-paroled monster, who abducted a girl doing an errand for her mother in a parking complex and forced her to withdraw all her money from an ATM before beating her to death (and probably raping her) on a desolate street, is evidently more worthy of respect and consideration from the media than Sarah Palin's disabled son. Do note that the petrodollar news won't even properly identify the implement Samuel was arrested with (a crack pipe) for fear that they will be singling out his race.

(And yes, I suspect the ACLU will rush to defend this pig pro-bono because he was a "profiling" victim.)

Los Angeles (myFOXla.com) - A 50-year-old parolee who was initially arrested on suspicion of drinking in public and carrying drug paraphernalia was behind bars today for allegedly killing a 17-year-old girl whose body was found in the passenger seat of her car near Skid Row in downtown Los Angeles.

Charlie Samuel, of Los Angeles, was arrested Friday night for the lesser offenses, but by Sunday, he was booked on suspicion of killing Lily Burk, whose body was found in her car around 6:30 a.m. Saturday near Alameda and Fourth streets. Samuel was being held without bail.

The killing was believed to be the result of a botched robbery, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.

At a news conference outside the LAPD's Parker Center headquarters, LAPD Assistant Chief Jim McDonnell told reporters that the crime "really hits home for all of us."

"I have a 17-year-old daughter myself and I can't even imagine what the family has gone through over the weekend," McDonnell said.

"And this is something that for all police officers and everybody in the city, I think, it really hits you right in the gut," McDonnell said. "A tragic event for the whole city family today."

Burk, a would-be senior at North Hollywood's Oakwood School, left her home in Los Feliz about 2 p.m. Friday to pick up some papers for her mother, a law professor at Southwestern University School of Law in the Westlake area.

Samuel allegedly abducted Burk about 3 p.m. Friday as she was about to get into her parked car in the area of Wilshire Boulevard and Wilshire Place, police said.

Samuel and Burk allegedly went downtown and made several unsuccessful attempts to get money from an ATM using the girl's credit card, according to LAPD Deputy Chief Sergio Diaz, who said there was no indication that the suspect was armed with a gun or a knife.

Between 3:35 and 4 p.m., Lily called each of her parents, asking how to get cash using her credit card at an ATM. Her father told her that the credit card could not be used at an ATM, police said.

"She didn't tell them that she was in distress," Diaz said.

According to police, Burk made arrangements with her father to go their home to pick up an unspecified amount of money, but she never made it there.

Shortly before 5 p.m., Samuel left the black Volvo in a parking lot at 458 S. Alameda St., with Lily's body in the passenger seat, Diaz said. Signs of a struggle were found in the Volvo, and detectives said the girl had suffered head trauma.

"This case does strike close to home for all of us who have children. This is really a parent's worst nightmare," Diaz said. "A young child, once she starts to get out on her own, to drive and to explore the world, through no fault of her own or anyone else crosses paths with one of these monsters that unfortunately we have living amongst us."

At 5:25 p.m. Friday, Samuel was arrested for allegedly drinking in public near Third and Los Angeles streets. When officers searched him, they found a cocaine pipe, and he was booked on suspicion of possessing drug paraphernalia, police said.

Meanwhile, Lily's parents reported her missing, and police started looking for her.

After her body was found, fingerprints collected from her car linked the suspect to her killing, police said, and Samuel was booked on suspicion of murder.

Samuel was in Los Angeles to complete a court-ordered program as a condition of his parole from an earlier conviction for theft, police said.

In a statement released over the weekend, Burk's parents said, "The thing we want people to know about Lily is that she was a beautiful person and that she was looking forward to her life. She was funny, warm, kind and empathetic. She was deeply and widely loved.

"Lily was looking forward to going to college, to being a writer, to what was ahead," they said. "She had a really bright future and it was cut short. If there is anything that people can take away from this horrible tragedy, it's that life is fragile and that they should live every minute of it fully."

No, you are being paranoid.

There could be a good reason for shielding his face. . . . its possible there were details in the story that they (FOX) had not been able to independently confirm yet. In that case, it could have been a liability concern. I have never seen FOX reluctant to show faces or reveal identities unless there was good cause.

The guy is already arrested. What reason is there to cover for him? The reason is very simple--America worships at the altar of the almighty schvartze.

ChaimBenMordechai:
No doubt her family were self-haters who bought into the "equality/diversity" dreck. Hopefully they will change their tune now.
