Jersualem featured in video games? How accurate?
« on: August 18, 2009, 02:57:49 PM »
I was playing Assassin's Creed which I really enjoyed. Granted you do play as an Arab as part of the Hashshashin, while I'm not positive if the character is a muslim, he is ordered to kill both muslims and crusaders.

Granted, I didn't play the game to support a political agenda, but the game takes place during the 3rd crusade which you travel to Damascus, Acre, and Jerusalem. The maps are HUGE although I noticed a few things missing in specific like King Davids Tower and the Wailing Wall. Actually what's strange is the wailing wall is supposedly destroyed in the game which makes little sense? I don't know if this was an attempt to deny history or simply a historical inaccuracy?

The temple mount and some other pieces of Jewish history exist.

I'm curious how accurate the display of Jerusalem is? I haven't really seen Jerusalem featured in any other games other than Splinter Cell.

Here is some video.
