With all due respect to the departed, Hashem loathes unnecessary and unwarranted superlatives, hyperboles and encomiums, because it leaves no room for the truly great and worthy!

Just before the Yom Kippur War in 1973 there was a massive Zahal military parade in Jerusalem, where Israeli leaders waxed, nay boasted, that the Israeli army was of "Biblical proportions", with "heroes worthy of the Tenach" and "ready for anything and everything" etc.
