More than 6 million - think about this
« on: November 24, 2009, 04:05:52 PM »
I was reading "Natasha and Other Stories" by David Bezmozgis for class. And I highly recommend the book.
One of the stories I want to talk about in the book deals with old Jews who were survivors of either Hitler or Stalin. One of the dialogues in the book deals with an old man who was a survivor himself talking to somebody else about how all the other old people in his buildings were now atheists because of the war. He basically said " But what do you say to a man who asks where was G-d when the Germans were shooting his parents and throwing them in a hole? It isn't a pleasant conversation. And who here didn't lose someone to the Nazis? I lost my grandparents, three beautiful sisters, uncles, aunts, and cousins. So what am I supposed to do, let the bastards win? Because who wins if a Jew doesn't go to synagogue? I'll tell you who:Hitler".
Let's all think about that.
