FLU
« on: November 11, 2009, 08:23:30 AM »
VERY  INTERESTING! !

In 1919 when the  flu killed 40
million people there was  this Doctor that visited the
many farmers to see if he could help them combat the
flu.  Many of the farmers and their  family had
contracted it and  many  died.

The doctor came upon this  one farmer and to his
surprise, everyone was very healthy.  When the
doctor asked what  the farmer was doing  that was
different the wife replied that she had placed an
unpeeled onion in a  dish in the rooms  of the home,
(probably only two rooms back then).   The
doctor couldn't believe it and  asked if he could have one
of  the  onions and place it under the
microscope.  She gave  him one and  when he did
this, he did find the flu virus  in  the onion.
It obviously  absorbed the bacteria,  therefore,
keeping the family healthy.

Now, I heard this story from my
hairdresser in AZ.   She said that  several years
ago many of her employees  were  coming down with the
flu and so  were many of her  customers.  The
next year she placed several bowls  with  onions
around in her shop.   To her surprise, none of
her staff got  sick.  It must work..  (And no,
she  is not in the onion  business.)

The moral of the story  is, buy some onions and place
them  in  bowls around your home.  If you work at
a desk,  place one or two in your  office or under
your desk or even  on  top somewhere.  Try it and
see  what  happens.   We did it last  year
and we never  got the  flu.

If this helps you and your  loved ones from getting sick,  all
the  better.  If you do get the flu, it just
might  be a mild case..

Whatever, what have you to
lose?   Just a few bucks on
onions!!!!!!  !!!!!!!!

Now  there is a P. S. to this for I sent it to a  friend in
Oregon who regularly contributes  material to me on health
issues.  She  replied with this most interesting
experience about  onions:

Weldon,thanks for the  reminder.
I don't know about the  farmers story...but, I do
know that I  contacted pneumonia and needless to say I was
very ill...I came across an article that  said to cut both
ends off an onion put one  end on a fork and then place the
forked end  into an empty jar...placing the jar next to the
sick patient at night. It said the onion  would be black in
the morning from the  germs...sure enough it happened just
like  that...the onion was a mess and I began to feel
better.
Another thing I read in the
article was that  onions and garlic placed around the room
saved many from the black plague years ago.  They have
powerful antibacterial, antiseptic  properties.

The onion would be black in the morning because of the air, not because of germs. Also bacteria and viruses are two different things. Onions might help you be more healthy if you eat them though.

Here's my theory on this, for what it's worth.

Spreading onions all around you keeps infected people away from you because of the nasty onion smell.

Less infected people near you = less chance of contracting the disease.

The doctor couldn't have seen the flu virus, unless he happen to travel with an electron microscope, which was invented in 1931.

On a more positive note, here are some basic guidelines to dodge the flu:

Most infections, like 80-90% or so, are caused by transfer of the virus from ones hand into his own mouth, nose, eye or ear. The rest are caused by directly inhaling the virus or by a direct contact of the above bodily openings with a contaminated object.

Fortunately, the virus is barely air born. If you are 6 feet apart from a coughing/sneezing carrier you are probably safe because the drops that carry the virus sink to the ground and cannot float in the air.

The virus is capable to survive up to 24 (some claim up to 48 hours) on non porous surfaces (like plastic or metal) and half that long on porous surfaces (like cloth and paper).

Here are some basic measures you should consider utilizing:

1. Don't ever touch your face, and if you have to wash hands thoroughly or use a sanitizer.
2. Carry a hand sanitizer and use it whenever you touch potentially contaminated objects like other people, door knobs, keyboards, pencils (people like to chew them), desks... especially use it before (and after) you touch your face.
3. Phones are particularly dangerous because they come in contact with both hands and face and are often shared with other people. I hardly ever lend my cellphone to anyone for that reason (and also because I'm a hypochondriac...), and I use alcoholic gel sanitizer on my phone.
4. Avoid crowded places like buses and trains, and if you have to, try not to be on the line of fire of a sneezer/cougher. Don't press your nose against the window. consider wearing a face mask (even though unless it is a true respirator it is not a good protection).
5. Avoid restaurants altogether and if you have to order something, let it be something very hot like tea or coffee. Hot packaged meals like Pizza or Burger are probably safer because they are packed hot. Don't use the utensils and plates that the restaurant gives you.
6. When you use a public restroom, use plastic bags to open the doors and for the tap levers. Apply hand sanitizer the moment you are out of the facility (the main door that is).

Onions and garlic have the same properties in them as penicillian. This is why garlic is so good to have in your food, as well as onion.

This is a good idea, thanks for sharing.

I'm actually more concerned about the safety of the vaccine than the flu, not taking it, and if I catch the flu I will simply ride it out and recover I'm strong young and healthy so I am not concerned about the flu.

The flu I had a year ago was horrible; by far the worst I ever had. It took me 3 nights of practically no sleep before I finally decided to take a painkiller.
Unfortunately this meant a breakthrough to becoming better meaning I relied on medicine to heal.

A Shaolin monk once taught me:

Take a cup of water. Dip a teaspoon into the water and then in a bag of salt. Then put it in the water again, stir it and then drink it and do it every morning. This will prevent cold-diseases for a great deal.
You can also just become sick...

Drinking salt water will dehydrate you. Drinking lots of water without extra salt will keep the mucus in your nose better able to protect you.

It's just a small cup in the morning. Never had any problems.

This is true but they must be raw. Go to the health store and get 100% organic green barley powder, it has thousand of live enzymes that our bodies need. We are only born with so many, we are living beings - we need raw food. Once the food is heated the enzymes are destroyed. Excellent book to read " Green leaves of barley by Dr. Mary Ruth Swope. I must tell you it tastes how fresh cut grass smells so put it in juice.
