As an internal struggle within the Florida Republican Party continues to unfold the founder of the "tea party" movement warned state GOP leaders that if they do not support conservative candidates they risk mutiny in their ranks.

Last week, Florida GOP chairman Jim Greer resigned after being accused of mishandling party finances, interference in Republican electoral campaigns and of backing moderate Governor Charlie Crist in his quest to win the Republican nomination for U.S. Senate.

However, Greer dismissed the allegations, and many commentators believe his ouster stems from Republican infighting as the party prepares to put forward candidates for the governorship, a U.S. Senate seat as well as the state’s legislative and congressional seats, according to TheLedger.com.

In fact, the outgoing leader has accused his party of trying to "burn the house down," while chairman of the Democratic Party Tim Kaine commented that "the extreme right wing of the Republican Party has claimed another trophy for its wall in its quest to purify the Republican Party, eliminate moderate voices and enact an extreme right-wing agenda."

As the developments unfolded, Dale Robertson, a founder of the tea party movement, has said Republican state leaders should back fiscal and social conservatives or face the same fate as Greer, according to The Washington Post.

"We are turning our guns on anyone who doesn’t support constitutional conservative candidates," he said.

Unfortunately, the tea party movement in Boston is made up almost entirely of Paultards. They endorsed the independent candidate in the Massachusetts senate race. I'm glad the tea party leaders elsewhere, on the other hand, believe in supporting true conservatives.

true conservatives.

Who are few and far between these days.
Cædmon's Hymn:

Now we must honour the Guardian of Heaven,
the might of the Architect, and His purpose,
the work of the Father of Glory-as He, the Eternal Lord, established the beginning of wonders. He, the Holy Creator, first created heaven as a roof
for the children of men. Then the Guardian of Mankind the Eternal Lord, the Lord Almighty
afterwards appointed the middle earth, the lands, for men.
