Iraq Asks for Return of Jewish Objects, Books
« on: January 17, 2010, 09:33:04 AM »
The government of Iraq has asked the United States to return to it ancient Jewish books and ritual objects that the U.S. Army rescued when it invaded Iraq. The cache, consisting of books, scrolls, documents, photos and ritual objects had been stored underground by Saddam Hussein's forces, covered by sewage. The items were brought to the U.S., where they were dried out and stored in special safes.

According to an agreement with the new Iraqi government, the items were supposed to be returned to Iraq after two years. However, Jewish groups in the U.S. have opposed returning them to Iraq, and have asked that they be transferred to a Jewish museum, such as the Museum of Iraqi Jewish History in Israel.

The banding together by the nations of the world against Israel is the guarantee that their time of destruction is near and the final redemption of the Jew at hand.

I don't think they should be returned--ever.  After all, what were they? Pillaged goods from a people who lived there for more than two millenia.  Those goods belong to their original owners and or their descendents, not to filthy murderers who already have Jewish blood all over their rotten hands

These Objects should be rightly returned to Israel.

These things belong to the Jewish people and no one else.   They are our scrolls and our manuscripts that they stole from us.   They are our objects and books that they stole from us.   Why should any iraqi regime keep possession of Jewish goods?
