Top Hamas terrorist Izzat Rishk said Sunday that the deal to release kidnapped IDF soldier Gilad Shalit in exchange for some 1,000 terrorists was "stuck," because of Israel's refusal to fully capitulate to Hamas' demands. Speaking from Damascus in an interview with Israel Radio, Rishk said that Hamas was insisting that Israel release arch-terrorists Marwan Barghouti, Ahmad Sa'adat, and Sheikh Ahmad Yussuf as part of any deal to free Shalit.
Rishk said that Hamas has not given up on hammering out a deal, and was "hopeful," because Israel has already conceded on several issues that in the past it had insisted upon.
