A veteran Republican senator is praising "Tea Party" activists.

Senator Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) says the "Tea Party" movement is "good for our country" because it is testing members of both political parties. He adds that most Tea Party activists are not happy with Republicans or Democrats in Washington and should be complimented for being so involved in policy issues.

TEA party logo"They're tired of big spending.  They're tired of stimulus.  They're tired of cap and trade.  They're tired of the federal government taking over healthcare, as evidenced by the partisan bill that passed the Senate just before Christmas," he explains.  "They're mad at all the attention Wall Street gets and Main Street doesn't get any attention, or what policies here don't help Main Street like they do Wall Street."

According to the Iowa senator, grassroots activists at town hall meetings and Tea Party rallies are a great example of democracy and our representative system of government "at work."
