Expatriate from Obama land...... where to go?
« on: April 15, 2010, 09:39:33 AM »
Hello,

with the daily assault on personal freedom, wealth, liberty, etc. I am becoming extremely weary of living in the US.  I am a oral surgeon so on top of everything else I will soon be a serf in the disastrous Obama Care system. With a shortage of doctors already, along with those retiring early and others leaving the US I would not be surprised whatsoever if the Obama clowns enact something that would prevent doctors from going outside the country and practicing. I want to get out soon. Day by day what money I have saved is worth less and less. I am very distressed and worried about my family. My father saved all his life, doing without a lot of things he deserved, in order to provide for my brother and I and to retire comfortably. Now this @#$%^&* wants to take it and re-distribute it to those he feels should have it. Sadly, many of Obama's actions are irreparable or at best will take decades to recover from. I could go on and on....

Anyway, back to the topic. Does anyone have any suggestions as to where to go? As I said above, I am an oral surgeon so I would want to go somewhere I could continue to practice. I prefer a city on a coastline and if possible somewhat close to the South Eastern US, it will be incredibly difficult for me to leave my family (my parents are getting old) and it may ease things if I am not so far away. I have considered Toronto but the cold weather does not appeal to me. Costa Rica is another location I have considered. Australia is a place I think I would love, however it is so far away. I am very confused.....

If anyone is thinking the same or similar, please share your thoughts. If anyone has knowledge of a favorable place to relocate, especially a place with a lot of expat Americans please share it. I think Okinawa Japan contains a lot of expat Americans....

Thank You,

drlmg

There is no place left to seek refuge.

The Republicans long ago made Dubai their own playground and investment bank.

The Democrats have luxury apartments in Peking, as do heads of corporations.

Obama has no intention whatsoever of allowing people like YOU out of the country with their wealth in tow -- soon, using our financial collapse as an excuse, laws will be passed prohibiting anyone from taking money out of the U.S.A.

I fully expect the Mao Mao's who follow Hussein O to go one step further; taking a cue from the Joseph Stalin Playbook --

Stalin needed the U.S.S.R's agricultural harvest to sell to the West in exchange for the machines and tooling needed to create heavy industry in Russia.  So, he publicly declared all family farmers "an enemy class of the people", stating their collective crime was 'earning a profit from farming', and declared as State Policy "The liquidation of the enemy class of prosperous farmers!"  They were immediately arrested and either machine gunned to death without trial, or exiled to Siberian death camps.  Stalin then seized the country's entire agricultural production and traded it to the West for machinery.  Millions of Russians starved to death as a result.

Do you find it inconceivable, that Obama wouldn't publicly declare that "Our country can never walk the path of progress, until the enemy class -- the medical practitioners, mostly white, many of them Jews and Zionists, who profited enormously while people of colour were left to fend for themselves without health insurance...must be liquidated!" ...?

If you're a Jew, make aliyah asap.

If you're a non-Jew, ?

Costa Rica is said to be a comfortable place for Americans with plenty of Yankee Dollars. I know someone that owns property there and they say it not a bad place for Americans to live. About the only thing that causes me to question this is the fact that their property is completely surrounded by a 12 or 15 foot high wall with roll down gates at all the entrances. Besides that they and a few other neighbors pay for a watchman to keep an  eye on things in the street at night. My thinking on this issue however is much like Massuh D's in the prior post.... You can run but you can't hide and if you think your leaving with anything but the clothing on your back you have another thing coming. If you really want out you had better do it soon say in the next year or so. As soon as any sizable amount of people start running for the hills you will see a crimp put in place to make it almost impossible. Now a question for you.... Why did a good part of the medical community actually support the shvartza Presidents health reform agenda?

I've already talked with friends about restoring a sailboat with living quarters and just going to Costa Rica and living there. I will be in Israel in due time but i'm not ready yet. Costa Rica is a nice place, been there many times. Panamas not bad either and you can own guns there.

Depends what part of South America/Central America you want to go, Bolivia is not safe for Jews and they cut all ties with Israel, plus it has heavy ties with Venezuela. Mexico isn't too good either, Uruguay is mainly European white but it's socialist, Argentina primarily white but socialist, Brazil is heavily mixed and while many Jews live there, the crime is insane there. Costa Rica/Panama/Belize are probably the best to go right now as an American.

I do not think it is a real wise idea to talk of where on an open forum like this.

They will try to hunt us all down.

Wow, it is interesting that you say this.... I have been looking at yachts and have had the exact same thoughts. You can buy a yacht now (now that the economy is in ruins) for as little as 30 - 40% of what they cost 5 years ago. A used one, they depreciate a lot in the first couple of years then level off.

I am not saying I plan on doing this but I thought about paying no taxes, student loans, or anything else to the govt.  -  keeping everything I make except for necessary bills. When the IRS catches on simply leave the country in the yacht with the cash and whatever else I want to load up. I already have stopped putting much of anything in the bank, I cash checks and keep the money in a safe. I have also been buying gold and silver bullions. I am going to Key West this weekend to look at a 44 foot repossessed yacht. I already have my passport and Costa Rica is my likely destination. Either there or Kenya to live with Obama's kinfolk.... joking.

I never thought I would have such radical thoughts but Obama and crew's societal reorganization is inflicting so many irreparable destructive changes to this country I can no longer stand it. I am also appalled at the large dependent class that supports him and his agenda. I guess in a way one could say that a lot of them were forced into that position by the actions of politicians who ruined our economy. By politicians I mean MOSTLY democrats, they are almost 100% to blame for the recent financial catastrophe. If anyone wishes for me to elaborate on my reasoning I will in another post.

Sorry for the rambling, it is after 2AM here. I am literally typing in my sleep.

Goodnight all,

you guys are very comforting to me... thank you.

Goodnight all,

I know some may be disappointed in my decision to not go to Israel right now, but I do not think the time is right. I think the Israeli government is really problematic with a mixture of socialist and capitalist elements. Much of Israel is still socialist and until that changes, I do not believe the conditions are right for me to reside there quite yet but soon within my life time.

Cruisers can be had for 30,000 dollars if you search on craigslist, these were originally 250,000 dollar yachts. I was close to buying a large cruiser at one point for 250,000 back in 03 and i'm glad i didn't. I would rather build my own sailboat but I suppose I could find a cruiser and sell off my assets. As for cash, I'm negative in my bank account and don't even put cash in my bank account anymore since they screwed me with overdraft fees while I was in the hospital.

Here's picture tutorial on a sailboat this guy built, granted I am sure I could speed up the process with some friends and it would take less than 4 years.

http://westsail42.blogspot.com/

These are the books for building a custom cruiser (yacht)

http://www.bruceroberts.com/

And if you really want to get into it, Youtube video on building your own yacht

(part 1)

last part if you want to see the final build

(part 8)

Granted if you have some time, some money to spend and a few friends, you can do it. I've always been into boats and yachts and while I certainly don't have a half million or a million dollars laying around to buy my dream yacht, I have skills and time to learn how to build one, i've done work before building seawalls and interior design so this project should be interesting. And people claim us Jews don't have talent, I laugh at those who mock us.

Noah built his boat before the great flood and I shall too.

Take a look at this yacht for sale on e-bay. It is a custom built 67' absolutely beautiful. It is in Athens, Greece. The bid is only $19,000 and I wonder why so low other than people may feel uncomfortable thinking it is a scam. If it is legitimate it surely will not sell for $19,000. I would guess the electronics in it are worth more than that.

FYI, someone just posted this on Craig'slist about buying boats, so be careful. lol.

For those of you that might get that boating fever beware. There are a lot of boats out there that need serious repairs, at times cost as much as the boat does to buy it. Boat owners that have there boat for sale, know of the problems and sometimes have a boat repair shop do minor repairs to get it by just to sell it. Service shops are not going to say anything because they might lose a customer and of course the boat owner is not going to say anything because they can't sell a broken boat. Last winter came on quickly and some boat owners were not ready for the freeze. Their boats were not winterized. Manifolds and engine blocks cracked. So the engines were destroyed by freeze damaged while others substained manifold cracks. Exhaust manifolds were damaged but not enough to cause water to leak in to engine places where water does not belong; or in exhaust ports causing engine running problem. So this is where shade tree mechanics come in to hide damage caused by freezing. Out side repairs were made by shops or boat owner to hide the freeze damage by using sealents and other forms repairs to hide mechanical problems. These boats will be going up for sale before the mechanical problems come to lite. The new boat owners will have to deal with these problems and cost of repairs. There is no lemon laws for boats so you'll be on your own if you buy.

The general rule should be, which is seldom used. When buying any boat wheather from a dealer, consignment, or by a boat owner is to have a mechanical survey performed by an experienced marine mechanic and not at the shop where the boat might be sold. Do not use a surveyor that is part of any marine repair business which might be influnanced by the repair business.
Example:
Customer brought in his boat into a repair shop because it was over heating. He had just purchased it from a private party not more then a week ago. When the new boat owner had gone down to the river with the seller, the new owner did not go out in the boat but watch the seller start it up and watch it run on the trailer. The new owner trusted the seller that the boat was in good shape. Wrong thing to do these days. There is NO Lemon Laws for boats. Come to find out,the manufold was cracked and was allowing water to come into the combustion cylinders. The manufold would cost over a thousand dollars to replace. The new owner was going to try to sell it to a boat salvage yard and take the loss. So when you purchase a boat, it is AS IS, so if it has problems it becomes your problem. You might try taking the person to court but if he gives you a bill of sale saying AS IS you are going to loose in court. As for companies that sell boats on consignment, they have contracts with small paragraphs that say the new owner is responsibe for servey or mechanical servey. This takes the company off the hook for anything that might be wrong. I have seen this done far to many times in the past. The boating industry is not regulated so this type of business practiced goes on every day. The new boat owner finds out the hard way each and everytime.

For those full service boating companies that are honest you should not have a problem with the information that I present to the boating community. There are honest boating companies out there, there just hard to find. Greed is the main factor why companies do it. The companies that scream the loudest about this type of thing not happening are the ones most probably doing it. The other indication is the flagging of this article because they want the boat community in the dark.
If you have any questions about buy a boat fell free to call 503-729-6412. There are NO free or Low priced used boats. They all cost something to repair.

What does a yacht actually cost to own?  What is the cost of fuel, docking, upkeep/repairs and insurance?  I don't think yachts were meant for the average person, like me, no matter what they cost to buy.  :'(

The support for Obamacare came not from the medical community -- the support came from the AMA, Big Pharma, and Big Insurance.

Most American medical practitioners don't belong to the American Medical Association.

The AMA functions as a professional lobbying group, just like Americans for Gun Control or the Association of Retired Americans.

The ARA lobbies for gun control, but ask yourself this question:

"How can full time employees work out of an office in Washington, D.C. lobbying to make guns illegal, all while calling themselves The Association of Retired  Americans?"
