I once had a meal with a man who finished by eating the wine glass. Honest. No ill effects, and apparently he did it regularly. Shocks you at the time, mind.

With my own eyes, honest. He was an Afrikaaner, and it took place in Pretoria. He was sitting next to me. He broke up the glass then eat it.
