Dear Chaim,
I was hoping you could answer the following question for me. My father and I were discussing why it is that we in the Galut, celebrate certain holidays two days as opposed to one, because we are not in Eretz Israel, and have to account for any time differences. I can see the reasoning behind this, and see it as understandable in older, and biblical times. On the other hand, today we have technology that gives us the exact timing of things (satellites, GPS, etc.) and tells us exactly what time it is in whatever time zone we are in, and therefore it would seem logical that despite being in the Galut Jews would celebrate certain holidays, only one day, and have only one seder for example. What is your opinion on this subject? As always, thank you and God bless you Chaim, and the JTF. Sincerely,
DBZ
