The disgust of major business leaders toward unemployed Americans apparently knows no bounds.  Now, we have the heads of Disney, Hewlett-Packard and other large entities joining with New York Mayor Bloomberg and Rupert Murdoch promising to fight to increase foreign workers in the U.S.  Seriously, what kind of dream world do they live in?

The Associated Press reports:

Chief executives of several major corporations, including Hewlett-Packard, Boeing, Disney and News Corp., are joining Mayor Michael Bloomberg to form a coalition advocating for immigration reform — including a path to legal status for all undocumented immigrants now in the United States.

The group includes several other big-city mayors and calls itself the Partnership for a New American Economy. It seeks to reframe immigration reform as the solution to repairing and stimulating the economy.

Bloomberg and Rupert Murdoch, chairman and CEO of News Corp., appeared together Thursday on Fox News to discuss the effort.

Federal data show that around 25 million U.S. workers who want a full-time job cannot find one.

Yet, to the rich corporate executives, you can never have too many workers competing for each job.  Having lots of unemployed people in the country, helps keep wages lower, benefits lower and working conditions lower.  The current unemployment is a dream for corporations whose top priority is not the national community but their bottom line.

Still, wouldn't you think these Fat Cats would find 25 million people hungry for a job to be a big enough excess pool of labor?

Apparently not.

This new Fat Cat Coalition has promised to convince the working people of this country that our economy depends on giving permanent work permits to millions of illegal aliens and to greatly increasing our already unprecedented level of legal foreign labor importation.

We're just going to keep the pressure on the congressmen," (Rupert) Murdoch said. "Somebody has to lead and explain to the country why this is in our interest."

The CEOs said Thursday in statements that their companies — and the nation — depend on immigrants. "It's our great strength as a nation, and it's also critical for continued economic growth," Walt Disney Co. Chairman and CEO Robert Iger said in a statement.

The group says it intends to make its point to policymakers by "publishing studies, conducting polls, convening forums and paying for public education campaigns."

GREED.

That is what it is pure and simple.  While I believe most business owners and executives truly care about their community, there still are plenty at the top whose greed for just a few more billions will drive them to sacrifice anything about Americans' quality of life.

For Disney, Hewlett, Murdoch, etc., the current immigration system that will drive nearly 150 million more people into our communities and countryside by 2050 just isn't forcing population growth and congestion fast enough.  Their money will always allow them to privately jet to some unspoiled place so they can enjoy serenity and nature.  They just don't care how packed and racked the rest of us are in the process of their importing more foreign workers.

People like Mayor Bloomberg feel that people are a commodity. He is only worried about his bottom line and that of others like himself. Mayor Bloomberg comes on to one of the local talk shows here in New York for an hour once a week  and while he and the host discuss issues some of the most outlandish things come out of his mouth . He himself said people will need to be highly educated in the near future or face the prospect of being unemployable. If he sees such a lack of workforce jobs in the future why is he looking to increase the ranks of people competing for them other than to collapse the wage structure.
