Shalom brother Chaim, ma shlomcha?
My questions/comments for this week:
1. last week very interesting things that were said at a meeting in the Ministry of Finance in Rosh Hashana 28.9.1967 were published. for instance, CEO Dr. Zvi Dinstein, implied that the prime minister at the time, Levi Eshkol z"l, did not rule out the steps to bring the Arabs to leave the yesha Territories.
It was actually a discussion of the economic problems caused by applying the legal currency Israeli Lira, in to Yesha. also Mutta Gur, the first commander of the Gaza Strip, then proposed to "freeze all development activities in Gaza to persuade the Arabs to leave".
It was also published that even Col. Shlomo Gazit ys"v (Surely youv'e heard of this monster, today he is a radical leftist that even compared the jewish settlers to "Nazis") said "the process must be gradual to all residents (in Gaza), as For the West bank, we should create an atmosphere of population mobility".
many other things were said at that meeting, but i wont quote them all beacause i think you get the picture.
for what it's worth, in addition to the great quote's of Abba Eban and Golda Meir that iv'e noticed that you use from time to time, from now on we have even better quote's, also from leftists/extreme leftists.
anyway, i personaly find it horrific that even the leftists of those days proposed something like this, and yet these days the only ones proposing these solutions are kahanists and other "far right" politicians.
your comments please.
2. Lately iv'e noticed that more and more phoney right politicians (and also some non politicians) such as Tzipi Hotovely, Emily Amramosi and Reuven Rivlin propose dangerous ideas of granting citizenship to the arabs in Judea and Samaria (that means about 1.5 milloin arabs). have people gone mad in this country? sevarel years ago nobody even dreamed of these things.
your comments please.
3. If you were prime minister of Israel, would you try cancelling/replacing the British Mandate laws that we still have, such as administrative detention? (remember though, that this specific law is mostly ment for arab terrorists, and not only for jewish heros that in many cases are innocent).
4. I really think that you should speed up the process of requesting for aliah from Interior Minister Eli Yishai, because I sense there's going to be a coalition crisis soon (for a variety of reasons) and I sure hope you will not miss any opportunity (or any form of goverment in israel) to apply for israeli citizenship, cause i really want to see you here soon. and if you don't mind, can you share a bit on how this is progressing for you?
Chaim hayakar, Toda raba lecha veshavua tov,
Herutnik.
