Wont spare Muslims in India if Sikhs are threatened in Kashmir: Hindutva orgs

New Delhi, August 21, 2010 – Strongly condemning the threats issued to Sikhs living in the Kashmir Valley by Muslim (Militant) groups and also criticizing the Central and the J&K State Governments for failing to protect the Sikh minority in the Valley, the Central Vice-President of Vishva Hindu Parishad, Sri Balkrishna U. Naik, President of Shiromani Akali Dal (1920) Sardar Bakshi Paramjit Singh, and National Spokesperson of Rashtriya Sikh Sangat, Dr. Avtar Singh Shastry in a joint press conference addressed in the national capital declared, “If Sikhs are forced to leave the Valley, then the supporters of the anti-national tormentor Muslims will be treated the same way in other parts of the country”.

They said Sikhs have always stood against evil. Sikhs are in minority in the Valley, but those that have threatened them should be aware of the fact that Muslims are in minority in other parts of the country. The treatment meted out to Sikhs in the Valley will be reciprocated and paid back in the same coin to the supporters of the anti-national tormentor Muslims in other parts of the country. Punjab, Haryana and Delhi may be the areas where such constituents will be in trouble if Sikhs and other minorities are made to face any problem in the Valley.

In 1947 the partition was on the basis of religions. Pakistan was given to the Muslims and India was given to the Hindus and Sikhs. The Indian Government is giving its core population step-motherly treatment in its own country. History is witness to the fact that Sikhs have laid down their lives time and again in protecting the Motherland from neighbouring threats.

The protests taking place in Kashmir is a calculated game of the Pakistani establishment. They have been giving monetary support to the groups protesting in Kashmir. The weak Chief Minister Mr. Omar Abdullah is unable to protect the minorities in his state and look after their welfare. The Govt. must give free hand to the security forces to wipe out the anti-national activities and maintain law & order in the Valley and at the same time make serious efforts to rehabilitate the displaced Kashmiri Pundits in their ancestral land.

The Chief Minister has not provided shelter to the minorities nor has he taken any step for betterment of their livelihood. Since the time of the Chattisinghpura massacre till date the Sikhs have been facing continuous atrocities in the Valley. Appeals to the State Government as well as to the Central Government for help to the Sikhs in the State had been neglected.

Now we have to take things directly in our hands for our betterment and livelihood in the Valley.

We have never asked Muslims staying in India to get converted to Hindu or Sikh if they want to live in free India. Then why are we given these threats?

Muslims should realign their attitude towards the minority Sikhs, Hindus and Buddhists in Jammu & Kashmir, otherwise they should remain ready for a backlash.
