Is Biblical Prophecy Against Making A Separate State of Judea?
« on: November 18, 2010, 11:48:11 PM »
Rabbi Meir Kahane gave support to the idea of a separate State of Judea, if the evil leaders of the state of Israel continued in their ways of land concessions to the enemy.
Indeed, there is somewhat of a biblical precedent for this.
When Shaul {Saul} who was too compassionate on Amalek, by biblical standards was told by the prophet that he would lose his kingdom over his compassion for Amalek, he did not lose his kingdom all at once to David.
Instead, after Shaul's death, (killed by a combination of the Philistines and an Amalek convert) David first gained control, just over the tribal territory of Yehuda {Judea} while the rest of Israel remained under the control of the son of Shaul. Only later, did the kingdom of the house of Shaul completely collapse and then David took control over all Israel.
Against this precedent, some people raise the biblical prophecy of Yechezkel {Ezekiel} 37:22 that predicts that in the future, we will have one king and the kingdom will not split up anymore. These people use this as proof that one can not split away from the secular Zionist government of Israel.

My answer to these people is the following. When the Jews of Gush Katif were trying to stop the expulsion, they made a movie for the likud party who were voting on the issue, featuring a song, with the biblical verse from the end of Amos "And they shall no longer be plucked away out of their land".
The prediction of the future implied by the song, did not come true, because, the biblical verse was dealing with  a future time, not now, when much better leaders, probably from the house of David will be ruling the Jews. And this is the same answer I give to the Yechezkel{Ezekiel} prophecy. The promise that there will be no more splits, is when the Jewish people have much better leadership, probably from the house of David.
