I have no idea why Jews live in France.  From Dreyfus to Vichey to Halami France has been a bad place for Jews.
We all need to pray for Barack Obama, may the Lord provide him a safe move back to Chicago in January 2,013.

I saw that story on Israel National News.... The Jewish Mafia...

What is this world coming to?

You shall make yourself the Festival of Sukkoth for seven days, when you gather in [the produce] from your threshing floor and your vat.And you shall rejoice in your Festival-you, and your son, and your daughter, and your manservant, and your maidservant, and the Levite, and the stranger, and the orphan, and the widow, who are within your cities
Duet 16:13-14

WRONG!!!!!!!! Jews can only live in Israel. If Jews live outside the land of Israel including America, it's if he has no God!!!

Good. It's for the Jews to realize their only place, a safe place or not, is the Land of Israel.

I have no idea why Jews live in France.  From Dreyfus to Vichey to Halami France has been a bad place for Jews.

The way you sum up France's history is very rough, to put it mildly... Overall, if you put aside the exceptional WWII episode where France was occupied by Nazi Germany and therefore was not sovereign on its territory, the truth is France has been one of the best Galut countries for Jews to live in since the French revolution that made Jews free and equal citizens. Of course there has always been antisemitism in France as in all other European Christian countries, but the number and the severity of antisemitic crimes and offences has been substantially lower in France than in most other parts of the world. The situation started to deteriorate at the end of the 90s (of the last century), mainly due to the high number of Arabs that live there and to the leftist media that constantly bash Israel. Still, things are not at all as bad as some Americans want to portray them out of antipathy toward the French. It's only very specific places that you should avoid going to (also if you're not Jewish by the way), but just like you shouldn't go to a L.Farrakhan meeting or to a number of crime-ridden suburbs in America with a kippa on your head...

Why do most French Jews stay in France ? Because most of them are very assimilated ! Many of them are attached to their Jewish roots and culture but the problem is when they do not receive proper Jewish education. Then, they become more influenced by Western liberal concepts than by the Torah teachings that may not be consistent with those concepts. As they become more and more assimilated, they stay in France because life is pleasant for most of them - they do not suffer from persecution or discrimination, they can have good jobs, it's a free, developed and democratic country, and, hey, it's also a beautiful country ! They do not view it as an imperative to live in the Holy Land. Also, most of them develop a strong bond with the country where they were born and whey they have always lived. They do not view themselves as forming a separate nation. They are as patriotic as any other group of citizens. Judaism then becomes more and more "just" a religion and a culture that they more or less care for. That's the reality of assimilation in Western countries. It is a "soft" destruction or at least alteration, without suffering or physical violence, of Torah Judaism. It is a very powerful force. Of course it goes along with very high rates of intermarriage.

France was occupied by Germany because they did not resist the German invasion.  Collaboration with the Nazis in the murders of French Jews was widespread.  France has always been hostile to Jews and to Israel despite its minor alliance with Israel when it was sticking it to the British.  Also my understanding is that most French Jews are Sephardim becuase the Ashkenazim were largely wiped out in the Holocaust.  The Sephardim don't have long roots in France.  My Israeli friend says he hears quite a bit of French being spoken in the streets of Israel.  He says many French Jews live in Israel but keep their French passport.

The only reason why Israel isn't safe is Israelis fear the black Hitler Osama more than they do G-d, and care more about "innocent" enemy collateral damage than their own children.

If Israel had the will it could take care of the Arab mess in one afternoon without a single Jewish life lost in return.

France was occupied by Germany because they did not resist the German invasion.

It is true that the will to resist was not strong enough. It was not like during WWI, when French fought bravely against Germans. France was decadent during the 30s. Especially the intellectual, political and military elites. The generals and commanders miserably failed in the battlefield, much to the surprise of Hitler, who expected more resistance. But the people themselves did not have enough will to fight for their freedom and their values. It was like they did not believe they could win. They were weakened.

Collaboration with the Nazis in the murders of French Jews was widespread.

There were totally unforgivable actions of collaboration with the Nazis. But active collaboration, such as denunciation, was not widespread. Most people were not heroes, that's for sure, but neither were they monsters. They tried to survive, more or less cowardly. When your army has been defeated, your country is occupied and your institutions have collapsed, it is very difficult to do anything.

France has always been hostile to Jews and to Israel despite its minor alliance with Israel when it was sticking it to the British.

Just like every other Western nation, France supports the establishment of a Fakestinian Nazi state in the heart of Israel. Not particularly more, not particularly less than the rest of Europe. French governments have also made repeated statements that more or less deny the right of Israel to protect herself. They are basically no better than the others. Of course I am completely opposed to this policy and there is no excuse for it.
Inside France, there is no persecution nor discrimination against French Jews, who are free and equal citizens. There is antisemitism among the Christian French population, but overall it is quite subdued and never takes on violent forms. There are many non-Jewish French who are very friendly to the Jewish people, who admire their faith and their culture. By far the biggest source of antisemitism comes from the Arab and African immigrants living in France (and from the leftist media that constantly bash Israel).

The proportion is approximately 65% Sephardim, 35% Ashkenazim. Yes, most Sephardim don't have long roots in France, they used to live in Arab countries under French colonial rule.
