correction from previous show: You said that Supreme Court Associate Justice LOUIS BRANDEIS (1856-1941) refused to believe that a holocaust was taking place in Europe and said, "I cannot believe him"; you were mistaken.  You meant to say that Austrian-born Jewish U.S. Supreme Court Associate Justice FELIX FRANKFURTER (1882-1956) was the one to refuse to acknowledge the holocaust. http://remember.org/karski/kexcrpt4.html
Brandeis, while at Harvard Law School, became active in the Zionist movement, seeing it as a solution to the antisemitism in Europe, while at the same time being a way to "revive the Jewish spirit" and he felt that the re-creation of a Jewish national homeland was one of the key solutions to antisemitism. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Louis_Brandeis
