Yes, I know that dialog and it comes from your web browser. It doesn't say untrusted if you pay a large sum of money to Verisign for a "VeriSign Trust™ Seal". That message is just your browser telling you our security certificate for encryption isn't paid for by one of their accepted corporations. Please be aware that it is just as effective as any other SSL security certificate.
The benefit if you do use the secure HTTPS protocol when browsing (that means that in the main link on your address bar, it starts with https://), then all your messages are scrambled before being sent across the internet. It does make more messages from your browser so it's not as convenient. It's really a matter of personal choice, but it is there for those who would like to take advantage of that functionality.
