Today is Purim Katan {The small Purim}.... Because this year is a leap year and we have an extra month of Adar {Adar I} we do not celebrate Purim until Adar II... But we mark the day Adar 14 as Purim Katan...
We should feel a spark of the happiness we feel on Purim...
Shabbat Shalom!

Purim is celebrated in the second Adar. However, during the first Adar we celebrate a Purim Katan - semi Purim. On the 14th and 15th1 of Adar I we don't say Tachanun, don't institute a fast day, and don't do eulogies. It is also customary to have a special meal and be extra joyous on that day.2
