For whatever it's worth, Fox News is just now reporting that the Senate immigration bill is dead.

I'll shame-facedly admit that the news could have been better ..... if only Fox News was reporting that this bill's main cheerleaders had also attained room temperature.

Apparently, I spoke too soon about this ..... Now that El Presidente Jorge Boosh has returned from his European trip*, the Mule-of-Sate is in an all-out press to resurrect his abortion of an immigration amnesty bill.  And sadly, most 'experts' believe that he'll get what he's asking for, at least in the Senate.

I'm referring to Bush as the Mule-of-State on the grounds that I can think of  no other elected official with this degree of stubborn stupidity in the face of reason.  If it were only annoying, but the plain fact is that people are dying every day for his stubbornness.

*By the way, note the hero's welcome for the Mule in Albania, after assuring that Kosovo will remain a Muslim stronghold, carved out of what was Orthodox Christian Serbia.  To this day, I'm amazed that Serbs did not rub our noses in the pile of debris from 9/11, as evidence of what a western nation gets for being nice to Muslims.
