Israel's proven oil reserve is about 0 and its proven nat gas discoveries are in the range of 25 tcf, even if further discoveries double the findings, we are still talking about discoveries with economic value in the range of 50 billion $, which is probably equivalent to the oil the Saudies sell in a month.

If this is true, then we know this is one bit of evidence that shows that Israel can be self sufficient and why Gd says we should be a nation that will dwell alone..

It's a matter a faith...and we get it from ancient history when we crossed the Red Sea; and current history when after the Shoah we won the War for Independence and a 6 day war while being outnumber 100 to 1.

You know what Chaim says about oil, that even using it from domestic sources is a problem because it continues to give value to oil as a commodity. Oil has to be replaced as an energy source altogether if the Arab power is to be taken away.
