Ross perot proposed that all politicians should be limited to two terms just as the president is so they would have to leave the artificial environment of politics and go into the real world and live under the laws that they've inflicted on everybody else.
I'll go one better:
In addition to the above, they should only be entitled to secret service protection whilst in office--not after they leave.I get infuriated when these self righteous twits sit in congress or the senate and try to pass laws forbidding ordinary people from defending themselves with a gun when all the while they have a heavily armed death squad minding them 24/7 at the taxpayers expense. If they knew full well that they only had the choice of using a gun or playing 911 roulette just like the rest of us when the crazies came a calling, they might think twice about denying Americans their G_d given 2nd ammendment rights.
