Was it doing this to prevent more posthumous baptisms, or to cover up the continued ones? It's blocking access to the names of Holocaust victims in its records, supposedly to prevent members from doing more baptisms of Holocaust victims. The flip side of that is that if the church officials do change the religion of them on the records then the public will now not be able to look that up and cause an outcry over it.
