A short message to new JTF members
« on: July 13, 2012, 01:10:43 AM »
Shalom/Peace,

JTF is a forum which has a mission, a mission which we consider a holy mission. This organization has a lofty goal, that of bringing to fruition the vision of the prophets of the Bible. Since we have such a mission we have attracted a variety of people. Not all members view everything eye to eye and as a result we must make adjustments in order to get along. From time to time characters arise who attempt to cause division in the ranks of JTF, and others who have nothing better to do than to upset our righteous members.

Since we have attracted a number of religious Jews, and righteous gentiles who should share our moral code, it should be obvious that postings should be made with the knowledge that certain things are forbidden. This is not a matter of being 'politically correct' as we all know that JTF is anything but politically correct. But even so, in my opinion, we should not allow anyone to say anything which may cause a Jew to go off the derek {cause him to sin}.

Judaism places a lot of emphasis on perfecting character traits such as anger, lust, jealousy, etc. Modesty is another very valuable trait. This is why it would be wrong to post videos of immodestly dressed women or men. It should be obvious that posting pro homosexual videos would also be looked at very suspiciously. Also using certain offensive terms which the administrators consider restricted should be avoided.

While the Jewish religion is discussed in the Torah section we should avoid posting religious issues in the general forum {although I from time to time have made such posts in order to explain Jewish thought}. The general forum, in my opinion, should be used for political and social postings about current or past events.

If we work together in a righteous manner we will be able to achieve our mission. G-d has a way of strengthening those who act in a way consistent with the Torah/BIble.
You shall make yourself the Festival of Sukkoth for seven days, when you gather in [the produce] from your threshing floor and your vat.And you shall rejoice in your Festival-you, and your son, and your daughter, and your manservant, and your maidservant, and the Levite, and the stranger, and the orphan, and the widow, who are within your cities

Good post Muman

I wonder if we should stop posting that might be deemed to be too racialist since were in a critical situation with the election coming up?

I think there are tactful ways of getting the message out but if something evil is going on we shouldn't censor exposing the reasons for it, but we should be more tactful.

No, indeed we are obligated to point out the wicked policies of the current administration. As a rabbi i posted the other night said, there is nothing wrong with warning others about a wicked man.
